I got Cubase AI 8 as the download version as part of a package with a Yamaha Audiogram 6 and have been recording fine with it. However when I try to mix down I get this error message

"The license required for application ‘MP3 Encoder C’ was deactivated, because it needs to be validated.
Should the licenseserver validate the licenses now?

You can use the ‘Validate License Usage Periods’ wizard of the ‘eLicenser Control Center’ to validate this license later."

When I check the e-licencer control center my MP3 encoder and Cubase AI8 licence details are in red

Does this mean that my Cubase AI 8 was some sort of Demo version and that the licence has expired?


apologies if this seems a bit dumb but I’m a real newbie.

Hi

Cubase AI is a full version (not a trial) but it comes with a MP3 encoder trial.

You can still export as wav, or if you really want to export mp3, you can buy a license for the MP3 encoder.

It’s cheap. 10 or 15 euro
