Aligning the start of a rhythmic section to bar 1 after tempo mapping

I have a live multitrack recording of a song with almost a minute of ad lib timing at the beginning, then the drum beat starts.

I have successfully tempo mapped the song to produce a tempo track so that the song stays at its original timing and the tempo flexes around the song. Excellent.

The time signature track is set to 4/4 as required.

But obviously the bar count starts at bar one at the very start of the ad lib.

I have set the timecode to 0.0.0.0 at the first beat of what I want to be bar 1 (which currently shows bar 26 beat 3) which is where the rhythm starts.

How do I set bar 26 beat 3 to be bar 1? The Project Setup dialog only allows full bar offsets. I need to offset it by half a bar…

I thought about sliding all the events half a bar to one side, but that isn’t possible because the Tempo track isn’t movable sideways, so that would leave me with an incorrect temp track, defeating the whole purpose of what I am trying to do.

I thought the tricky bit would be making the tempo track in the first place, but that was easy and done in seconds. How can setting the bar count be sooooo awkward to achieve?

Maybe you can insert a fitting signature event anywhere before 26.3.1.0?

Perfect. Thanks so much. I was tearing my hair out!

Or you could use Insert Silence to stick the 2 beats (or whatever) into the very start of the song. That should also move the data on the Tempo Track.

Thanks for that.
