Inserts are broken on all my instrument tracks. W10 Pro, C14 Pro,
I can select a plug in to load in the insert slot of the instrument track, and it opens, but the power button and bypass button are greyed out. If I “X” it closed, it still appears in the insert rack of the instrument track, but is unresponsive - it’s completely unclickable there.
I restarted in Cubase safe mode, disabled all preferences, and disabled all 3rd party plug ins - same result. This happened even on a dummy instrument track.
Has anyone else seen this? Any hints please?
Thank you!
EDIT: I opened a Cubase demo project, and the inserts work just fine in instrument tracks there.
I guess that means my project is corrupted somehow?
I guess so…
Any .bak file exisitng in your project folder ?
Maybe by using the File > Save as… function, as a first attempt…
If not working, I would try to create a new one and use the File > Import > Track from project command or import audio files directly from the \audio subfolder of your previous project and retrieve eventual MIDI material with export/import of MIDI files.
Something still doesn’t add up to me though - as I described above in the OP, with Constrain Delay Compensation (CDC) button activated, any insert plugin I added to the insert slot in an instrument track was nonfunctional, even Steinberg Compressor.
But, at the same time, I *could add fully functional plugins to audio tracks!
I wonder why the difference?
Either way, as I see it - that’s a limitation of the CDC button - less than functioning Instrument Tracks.
In my previous Cubase 12 the latency allowance for plugins was set to 20ms by default (I think). I had noticed that on Cubase 14 I had that setting at 0ms initially.
