Big problem:
All of my montages (!!!) are not opening / loading (audio files missing), and the error message pops up regarding the .anc file
Please can someone help me?
Windows computer. All of my files are stored on google drive.
Probably google drive has damaged your file.
But the .anc files can be erased without losing your montage data. Hence, try to erase them and see what happens.
Never trust the “cloud” for storing files…

what is the .anc file?
when the problem occured, afterwards i set wavelab to be the default program that opens anc files, perhaps i should not have done that, but i’m not sure how to undo that, but i guess thats a question for a windows forum
It contains settings such as selection, zoom, scroll position, etc. which are setting convenient to have persistent, but that does not affect the audio.
Indeed, you should not.
You can do this for .mon files, however.
