(UPDATE AT END)
I just updated my NotePerformer from 4 to 5.1.2, and the vocal sounds now sound terrible - at least when ‘singing’ one note to a syllable. Every note is separated from the adjacent one, and has a slight upward inflection which makes the ‘singers’ sound almost comical. I’ve restarted Dorico (v. 6.2.30.6245 BTW) several times in the hopes of getting back the very decent sounds I’d become used to in v4, but nothing changes. The point is that the project is an opera, the singers need soundfiles in addition to the vocal score, and I’d really like them to receive something decent. If there isn’t a tweak for this, could I roll back to NP v4 simply by downloading the executable file, assuming that I can find it?
UPDATE - OK, I found the legato setting for ‘normal’ notes in Playback Options, set it to 100% and ticked the ‘abutting notes’ option. All is fine now.
