I would like to request an improvement to Track Quick Controls.
In earlier versions of Cubase, it was possible to assign parameters to any of the eight Quick Control slots more freely. In the current version (Cubase 15), it seems that assignments are forced to fill the slots sequentially from slot 1 when using the Quick Controls panel.
It is still possible to assign a parameter to a specific slot (for example QC8) by right-clicking the parameter and selecting the Quick Control assignment, but it would be much more convenient if users could directly choose any of the eight slots from the Quick Controls interface itself.
This would be useful because controller layouts are not always used from left to right. For example, if a hardware controller has 8 knobs, sometimes the first control a user wants to map might be the rightmost knob, not slot 1.
Allowing parameters to be assigned freely to any Quick Control slot would make the workflow more flexible.
Also, one small question: the Track Quick Controls on/off button has always been a bit mysterious to me. I have never noticed any change in behavior when toggling it. Could someone explain what it is intended to control?
