In this case, it doesn’t allow the window to be resized at all. Not only that, but since it’s stuck at that specific size, and without the controls we normally see in plugin windows, you can’t access the drop down list that has the toggle to enable/disable resizing.
The main problem is that removing the plugin from the channel and then loading it again doesn’t reset this, so if I want to use this plugin, I don’t see a way to disable this. Basically every time I load this plugin on any project it come up all messed up like in the screenshot.
I thought maybe the command had a key command, so I looked for it, but when I started typing allow window it filtered down to nothing.
So in absence of a key command or GUI element, is there anything else I can do?
You don’t tell which version of Cubase and OS you have. Onb my win10/11 with Cubase pro 15.0.30 I can resize by pressing “ctrl+alt+num-” to decrease and “ctrl+alt+num+” to increase the window. That’s for Steinbergs VST3 plugins.
For third party plugs I have to go to “Switch to generic editor” to get to some knobs and faders. Third party plugs behaves differently from plug to plug as far as I have experienced. Steinberg isn’t responsible for this.
It’s Cubase Pro 15, with the latest update, on Windows 11 Pro.
I just tried that, but nothing happens. Evidently, that feature is not well implemented, because when something extreme like this doesn’t happen, and you can return to normal, it never worked properly on any plugin.
That feature was introduced in Cubase 11 as a legacy function to make HiDPI-unaware plugins useable on high resolution screens (mere upscaling).
It won’t work on all plugins and ultimately was introduced while developers transitioned to HiDPI / DPI / Per-Monitor awareness to facilitate users that already had HiDPI screens.
