Alphabetical listing of Dorico Youtube videos

I’m wondering if there is an alphabetical listing of the video tutorials available on the Dorico YouTube channel? (Eg. Name - link - date). I know you can go to youtube and search and browse through those that are in categories, but that’s not quite the same. Perhaps adding a list of all available tutorial videos (including tips tuesday and shorts) with their release date would be a nice addition to the Resources page? (I’m asking this assuming Dorico keeps some sort of database list of videos that could be exported such that what I’m asking is not a lot of work).

What is it you’d like to get out of such a list? For instance, you can already view videos on a YouTube channel by release date.

True about the release date. For the alphabetical aspect, it is faster than searching through the YouTube site. With all the posts from Finale users, in answer to their questions I’ve noticed links to videos that I had no idea existed and were ones that were helpful to me now. Considering I thought I had gone through every video on the YouTube channel over the past two years (using the various sorting options, playlists, etc. available on YouTube) and didn’t see some of the ones being referred to, it occurred to me that an alphabetical list (or some sort of list other than searching on YouTube) might help me and others find videos of interest. Yes, I can search for a topic that I need an answer to now on YouTube and maybe find it, but scrolling through a list I might see something where I might think “oh, I didn’t know Dorico could do that” or “that might be worth taking a look at.” Ultimately watching those videos that I’d never think to search for could potentially help me be better at using Dorico. Since I didn’t find the videos in my going through all the videos on YouTube over the past 2 years, such a list might be helpful to others. And like I said, if it’s not much more complicated than exporting a list from a database, why not? If it’s a lot more work, the benefits probably don’t outweigh the work involved.

I suspect the information is sufficiently spread out that it’s not as simply organised as you might be picturing

There’s this page of Tips Tuesday short clips, which has an order and a variety of themes.

How about something like that for the YouTube videos? I don’t see anything like that on the YouTube page.

That’s not really how YouTube is geared to operate, and maintaining a page full of YouTube links sounds more tedious than I suspect it would be worth

Please feel free to start a forum thread where you list helpful tutorials in alphabetical order, though!

I used to do videos on YouTube (and plan to return soon). I keep a database of all my videos with titles, links and date. For me, it’s as simple as exporting the database, adding in <a> tags, which can be automated and it’s done. I figured you would be keeping some sort of similar database making creating such a list relatively easy.

I would find something like that very helpful. Thanks!

Since I sometimes add odd titles to live streams or the session covers more than one topic - I’m not sure how an alphabetical list would help? E.g.
Create a Title Page
From Plate to Page
Musical Flashcards and Worksheets

I do now put them into playlists for the year e.g. Discover Dorico 2024, but also for the Dorico version number e.g. Dorico 5 | Live Streams.

I suppose we could make a playlist of everything for v5 whether it’s a live stream or video so you can scan through a list of titles and see if anything grabs you?

This whole idea was just a random thought that came to me. I wouldn’t put a whole lot of effort into it, nor would I get hung-up on the “alphabetical” aspect. Any sort of list of what’s available on YouTube would be nice.

I haven’t even managed to do the chapters (timecode) in the last two sessions so unless this is an automated YouTube thing that they offer by default it’ll have to join the list of ‘to do’, sorry!
