Alt-n and alt-m 'collect' articulations

I’m sure I’ve used alt-m and alt-n on many occasions to move material through other ‘occupied’ staves (usually only when they’re within 3 or 4 staves), but when I do it now the notes ‘collect’ any articulations they encounter on the way. Whatever my recollections may be, were these two commands always meant to refer to one staff above or below as destinations (or for any number of unoccupied staves)? Dorico Pro Help uses the term ‘to other staves’ in its heading, but refers to ‘the staff above/below’ in the text.
I can always cut and paste manually of course, and I’d do that in any case if the staves were some distance apart vertically.

Yes, I would consider this to be the expected behaviour. When you move a note to the staff above or below, it gets merged with the existing material on that staff (as if “chord input” is activated in the notes toolbox on the left-hand side in Write mode), so it will indeed take on the articulation(s) of notes on the staves where the notes are merged.
