Alter all accidentals for same note in measure

is there a command to change, say, all the A flats to A naturals in a measure (in the same staff and register) by selecting the first one only rather than selecting every one?

Popover shift +i, a=ab after selecting the whole bar.

Marc’s suggestion is a great one: select the whole passage where you want to repitch specific notes, then press Shift-I for the note tools popover, and enter the transformations you want. You don’t need to filter out other notes, as the transformation only affects the named pitches.

In your case, it’s Ab=A

Thanks for the correction, I admit I never used it for this but this tool is so brilliant!

That is brilliant. Thanks so much, @MarcLarcher and @Lillie_Harris. And this tool could be used for so many things.

I actually slightly mis-stated my question. The situation I was actually thinking of was when one is correcting an accidental and wants it to apply to the notes that follow the correction; not the whole measure. In Finale one would correct it in the normal way with the option key down (actually I am forgetting my Finale commands so I’m not sure about what key) and it will automatically change all the following ones as well. But, of course, what you have suggested handles this situation as well, and much more.

That’s astounding. Another sharp chisel for my toolbox.

Simply select the relevant passage of notes first, whether it be a bar, a couple of beats, several bars, whatever, even on multiple staves if needed.

@Andro I’m really glad I asked the question! I try not to burden the Dorico staff with continual questions, but often very glad I did ask.

@Mark_Johnson Exactly. it handles a multitude of issues, and I can imagine using this tool a lot.
