I think I’ve found an alternative, to update an expression map, to changing the version number in the map.
After having edited an expression map, and saved the endpoint configuration making use of it, go to the playback template. There, remove and add again the endpoint configuration just saved. Save and apply the playback template.
As far as I can see, it seems that the expression maps are updated in the project.
