I miss an always-on-top window function in VST Live for all externally accessible windows such as Notes, Lyrics, Chords, etc.
If you quickly jump back and forth between windows (e.g. selecting a different part in a live scenario), it is inconvenient if the Notes window suddenly loses focus.
I would like to be able to keep several external windows always in the foreground by activating this function in the windows:
If I understand you well, this is highly supported by me as well. I have a similar challenge: I use Band-In-Box’s plugin for storing chords (as most of my songs started in BnB). I want to be able to have chords open up automatically upon loading a new song. There is a button to press on the plugin window, however, that only works for the first song you open. As you auto-roll to the next song, the chords window for that new song is not visible and has to be loaded manually.
One is that “tear off” Windwos don’t close anyway, so use those, same as here (pls try to reduce number of topics, thanks).
The other is an “Always on Top” option for those windows, we’ll check that.
Third, if you want to switch views (inside the main window) for whatever reasons, you can do that too, using Actions and Shortcuts, which you can also automate via MIDI and buit-in Virtual MIDI connections.
The plug-in window I am talking about has three buttons at its top right and the last of these is called “Open window on activation”. When left clicked, it will open the song that was last edited when VSTLV is started again. If you scroll to the next song thereafter with the same activation set on for that next song, this plugin window (containing my BnB chords) does not open up automatically.
Sorry, what I meant is that the Band-in-a-Box (BnB) chords plugin is loaded in a VST instrument track, similar to where Halion Sonic VST presets are loaded. By the way, the problem does not relate only to the BnB - it lies with that window that hosts them.
Thanks. Your advice? - I have a list (yet to prepared) of things that “bother” me. Can I prepare that as one new threat, or will I have to create a new topic for each instance???
Thank you Felician. I will prepare the list and use the search function, as proposed, to establish if any have already been covered and will revert thereafter.
