Amalgamation of notes, but not slurs

I haven’t been able to find the right combination of settings to get my notes to amalgamate, but these dotted slurs to not amalgamate. In bar 10, I want the top note to also contain a dotted slur, just like the ties. Can someone help me?

If I turn on manual condensing, then the top slur doesn’t show up, but if I leave it off, then the notes don’t amalgamate like I expect them to.

Hi @ericgoetz8, you can, after condensing with solid slurs, set each individual slur property Style to Dotted:

Or (better I think) you can set those notes to be tied in Galley view (or before condensing), and then set the style of the last tie to Dotted:

And for this second method you need to re-enter the Tenuto for both staves, and set the Articulation of duration position to Last note of Tie Chain (in Galley view):

Thanks! I couldn’t get your first solution to work, but your second (tie-based) solution worked fine. I agree, it looks a little nicer, even though playback is slightly-compromised.

You can easily adjust the playback:

add, in another voice, the last note of the dotted tie chain for both voices, then in Engrave mode hide the notehead and stem (you may need to deactivate condensing temporarily to make those properties changes).

You may need to add a manual Condensing change to reestablish the desired stems division.

Then you can also further adjust the length of the previous notes (until the begin of the dotted ties), in key editor, activating Played Duration and dragging the end of the solid tied notes a little earlier, so that the gap is hearable:
