I’m currently using my integrated graphics on Intel 12900K, Cubase 13, and everything works fine. I’d like to upgrade the graphics but very warry that it might affect Cubase performance negatively, and even introduce UI glitches (two separate concerns).
I’m not looking for a high end GPU, thought of AMD Radeon RX 7600 but could be any other card.
Does anyone have a recommendation they can certainly say works well and not worse than with the integrated graphics?
The AMD Radeon RX 7600 outperforms your integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 (which is the integrated GPU of your Intel 12900K) by far. If anything, it should improve performance.
If you don’t work with videos, it will not really have any impact.
I haven’t tested this, but there shouldn’t be a negative impact by using a dedicated graphics card. Especially a powerful one as the AMD RX 7600. I myself am using a Nvidia GTX 1660 Super with no complaints.
Speaking as a user, this is not an official Steinberg statement.
Oh just a question please, are you using Cubase 13? Do you know if they already fixed all the UI glitches that were present when the version was released?
I use C14 myself. I never worked on C13 so I don’t know what is fixed and what is not. I believe I read somewhere there are still problems with Windows themes not working correctly. I would believe that if you don’t have problems now, you won’t have problems with another graphics card. But maybe other users have opinions and experiences on this.
