Yet if I right-click on the 8va line in typography mode, some options appear that refer to creating an angle but I can’t understand what it’s for or how it works.
I didn’t even know about that menu at all — happy to learn something new! I experimented a bit with it. If you only have the 8va line selected, the menu items weirdly don’t seem to do anything, but if you select the notes, the line will follow the contour of the notes.
Except that it creates an ending bracket that is not in line with the rest. This is an area of Dorico that I think is sadly lacking. I have to piece together dotted lines to make what you see in your original example.
