Annoying remaining dots when trying to replace Midi CC lanes

Hi friends,

When trying to replace existing MIDI CC lanes with new ones in the key editor I can’t get rid of those annoying remaining dots unless I remove them manually afterward with the mouse with is a pain.

My MIDI record mode is replace.
And in preference I made sure to select “Controller” here:

I’m sorry if it’s a newbie question but this has been buggin me for a long time and I didn’t find any answers online.

I use the “thin out data” and “extract data automation” to ease the pain :smiley: but even then I have to do a few extra clicks when switching over to the sexy curves system Cubase introduced some years ago.
