This test was successful for me. Maybe it has occurred to others. It is a little unconventional / ugly but can get the job done. It seems a little better to me than putting trigger notes / key switches on a regular staff. Obviously for playback rather than engraving.
Steps:
- Create an endpoint and insert Scaler.
- Setup Scaler (I tested with Scaler 2 & 3) with chords you want in section C. Activate key switches.
- Create a Drum Set (note!) with instruments of your choice, one for each chord you want. Edit the names to match the configured chords.
- Create a Percussion Map to associate each instrument with a Scaler key switch (C3, D3, E3, …).
- Assign the “drum” tracks to the Scaler endpoint and assign the percussion map.
It would really be nice if the equivalent could be achieved with the regular chord symbols.
