Another sample rate thread

First of all, I’ve just moved back to Cubase after decades of Logic/Ableton, and I really love it. However, there is one real nightmare I’m encountering. Sample rates. First of all, can we just make this transparent for users? Logic Pro doesn’t care about sample rates and just WORKS. So you can focus on making music.

Anyway, here’s the issue. My IXO22 runs at 48khz, and that is what my projects run at. After much troubleshooting I have this all running great. Sometimes I want to pack my MacBook up and do editing on-the-go using the built in audio, which is 44.1khz. Even keeping the project at 48khz, the time and pitch of playback changes. How can I avoid this? No, I don’t want to pack my interface and big headphones everywhere. I want to use the built-in audio.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

Ps. I don’t want to be a jerk, but in 2024 this shouldn’t even be a thing. It should be a transparent process so musicians can make music, not troubleshoot tech issues. Cheers!

Well, yeah, it shouldn’t be a thing in 2024, but that’s Cubase. However, your MacBook built-in audio shouldn’t be fixed at 44.1. You should be able to set it to 48. Alternatively, as was discussed in a recent thread, you can use an aggregate to work at 44.1 when using your IXO22.

Thanks Glenn. I’ll look into both of those! This is new territory for me because, as I mentioned, it was a non-issue for the past decade. LOL!
