Very long thread with much to discuss. Just chiming in to say I feel the ability to say #x:#y in a tuplet, where # are numbers and x and y are different note values, should be a feature of Dorico’s tuplet capabilities. I created this thread which essentially was asking for the same thing: Tuplets with two different units?. I have numerous times encountered music that is in a fast 5/16 pulse (e.g. an overall time signature of 5+5+5+5/16). When you want to write a triplet, for example, over one of the “big” beats, it is more intuitive to feel it and it looks more natural to see as 3 eight notes in the space of 6 sixteenth notes, i.e. you feel a simple triplet in the beat. Now, the only want to do this is to do 6:5 sixteenths. This is just one among many examples discussed above where having this option would be beneficial to the users, where it is standard practice in music already existing, and where previous programs that Dorico is improving on did allow for such things.
