Is the above computer good for my music production hobby..I sometimes have trouble with the Cubase Omnivocal and other instruments freezing or skipping (generally acting up)..the only trouble with this one is that Google search says I wouldn’t be able to upgrade the processor..any help in steering me to a refurbished Dell Desktop computer no more than $500 that can handle a hobbyist let me know..
The Google search seems to sound like it knows what it’s saying when I asked it for a recommended Dell computer for a Daw..it’s recommending Nvme ssd over Sata solid state drives..you guys may understand why
Can’t be easily upgraded to Win11. Kaby Lake family from 2017, so nearly 10 years old.
I was gifted a similar machine, it’s usable but not more than that. $500 is a bit steep, maybe not because of the 32 GB RAM. Ram is really expensive now.
I would have to agree with everything zip has pointed out and then add… if for any reason you were using or wanted to use an internal PCIe soundcard it probably wouldn’t fit.
Save up/get credit and buy from a supplier that specialises in audio computers.
It’s just about what you do now, it’s about what you may want to do in the future.
Got mine on credit and one payment left. Still expect to use it for at least another 4 years.
What I meant was the computer (Google search)says you cannot replace the processor or CPU..it said the computer is at a dead end when trying to upgrade that component
Del machines are a proprietary build. They are built in a way to accommodate the parts used for each specific model. You do not want a Del if you plan to upgrading it at a later date.
