Any Idea how to setup a Db Trumpet in a Score?

I am working on a large romantic symphonic piece. Obviously the composer still expected, the trumpetplayer to change between several”Trumpets” (or options to change the Tube-length - without having the modern Piston valves). He demands and notates therefor often Trumpets of changing Tune. As far I find them in the Instruments avail able in the setup of a Dorico-Score I know what I have to do.

My Problem now is: He demands a Trumpet in Db which I cannot find in Dorico (there is a french horn in Db but not Trumpet).

What would your suggestion: Is there any other way to setup this more precisely in my Score than just chosing the C Trompet and write each note a half ton higher than in the manuscript?

Disclaimer: I’ve never done this.

But: reading the manual it seems you could create a Db trumpet based on the Db French Horn

As the D♭ Horn transposes 11 half-steps down it’s easier to duplicate the D trumpet, rename it and change the transposition to

For fine tuning decrease the range values a half-step respectively.

Yes that is exactly what I have done with the C-Trumpet. :+1:
Great how customizable this Instrumental Pallete is!
