Any updates to the play tab / mixer etc?

Excited about the newest release, congrats to the team! I read through the release notes on the blog, and if I’m understanding correctly this version seems to address primarily engraving / visual layout elements and general UI enhancements, is that right? The only thing I’m seeing updated to the playback side is the new cycle loop mode (which I’m thrilled about, I’ve requested that one many times!). Curious if there’s anything new or anything planned for the play tab (including mixer / automation / VST / expression maps / etc)? I hope to not see that side of Dorico neglected, especially with MuseSounds doing their thing, I think playback and mockup creation is becoming of equal importance to engraving nowadays.

Money is a bit tight ATM but I look forward to upgrading to V6 as soon as I can. Thanks again!

There are no secret features in Dorico 6 that we haven’t publicised, Jonathan. If you’ve read the blog, watched the videos, pored over the Version History, you know everything there is to know!

We of course have future plans in every area of the application, including in playback, MIDI editing, expression maps, and more. You should not interpret the lack of progress in any single area in one single development cycle as “neglect” or “abandonment” of any part of the program. We can only address a tiny fraction of the things on our wish list in any development cycle.

Thanks Daniel! Totally understandable and makes sense. Thanks for putting me at ease that nothing will be left behind  I look forward to whatever the future brings for Dorico, and trust that the team has great things in store for us. I think the new release looks great– I’m excited to update as soon as I can. Cheers!
