Just a heads up for anyone trawling these forums, i worked out what it was… Rogue Amoeba ‘Soundsource’ audio switcher for MacOS adds latency automatically, so it’s essential to add your DAW apps and Stand Alone virtual instrument apps to the Exclusion list in Soundsource. Solved.
