Anyone Using M-Audio Delta with newer 1155 Intel Chipsets?

I have to decide which board to use now …

Sorry for this , but I wondered if anyone was using the Delta series with any 1155 chipsets, and if so which board?

I was looking at H61 Chipset …

Looks like it may be a problem with audio cards not working with the later chipsets with no direct PCI support for 1155 chipset boards!

Aside from ProTools HD cards, I haven’t heard of incompatibilities with bridged PCi. I’m using RME HDSP9632 PCI with Z68 + i7 2600k. If you read about incompatibilities and such about PCI bridge, make sure that is a first hand info coming from actual experience. I have read a lot of guys making assumptions.

I’m using a Delta Audiophile 24/96 PCI with a new Asus Z68 board and I7 2600k. Works flawlessly, as it always has (I must have had this card for about seven years).

Steve.

Well that sounds cool…

But I just read on the M-Audio forum of people having problems with PCI Bridges marked Series 6 PCI Bridge … in your system devices in your device manager, what does yours say? Series 5 is fine, Series 6 is not … maybe yours in later?

Interesting - my laptop says 6 Series for the PCI bus. I’m not at home at the moment, I’ll check my desktop when I get back.

Steve.

Okay, my desktop says 6 Series PCI bus as well.

This is a new build so hasn’t been used extensively yet, but my M-Audio Delta Audiphile 24/96 is working as normal - in fact now with buffer sizes of 128 or 64 samples (I used to run it at 256 samples most of the time previously).

Steve.

Well that is good news.

And I have good news too…

I have mocked up a system based on the earlier 1156 CPU and a board I had that supported this with an upper end large cache i5 CPU running at 2.8 … I am yet to install the lite OS of my choice which is a specialised version of XP that I run for very reliable low latency operation…

With my new Delta 1010LT … this is a perfect instrument rack… it handles the entire stack of synths I own, running at 96K with less than a ms latency all playable with real feel in real time.

I realised that also my AV and my email client brower and photoshop was running at the same time, with no gltches and Ivory Pro53 and many other synths all playing at ones from one input …

This looks like its a doddle …

I really think this is the future and when its finished I’ll be taking it into rehearsal complete with its suspended rack case and SSD for transport security … it will also be a mobile Pro Tools rig … for sessions with those who use the inferior industry standard …
Delta 1010LT also sounds surprisingly good at 96K !!

Used my Delta 1010LT on an ASUS p8p67 with no problems

Building another system with an extra 1010LT I have on an ASUS P8z68-m pro
If you do not hear further from me in 24hrs - then there is no problem with that combo as well…

If I have problems I will be back looking for answers
No problems = installing hours and hours of thingamajibbers
