Apply button non-operational in Project Default Chord Symbol Appearances window

A reminder to the team…

In the Project Default Chord Symbol Appearances window, the Apply button does not work.

That is, clicking Apply doesn’t do anything to the score. You have to Close the window to see the result of your chord symbol edit.

This means that, if I need to do multiple tweaks to the appearance of a particular chord, for example, to fit many chords into a tight space, then I must Close the window, look at the result, and then Open the window again, perhaps many times before the desired look is achieved. Many, many mouse clicks in some cases.

If the Apply button worked properly, as it does for other similar windows, then the result of an edit could be seen immediately, and adjusted without the need to Close, find the menu item again in the Library menu, click on the desired chord AGAIN, and then edit. All tedious mouse-work.

It’s always been like this, since the start of Dorico’s chord symbols in v2. It seems like such an obvious thing that has just been forgotten about, or I suppose, constantly pushed further down the priority list.

Also, a subtle reminder (probably not necessary!) that if we had more Engraving Options for Altered Bass Notes in Chord Symbols, then the above issue wouldn’t be nearly so important, at least for me.

I’m on Win11, latest version of Dorico Pro.

Thanks!
