Updated to Cubase 15
Later uninstalled Wavelab Pro 12 (sold it)
→ ARA Wavelab disappeared
Updated Cubase 15 again
Reinstalled Wavelab 13

An obvious question, but I’m going to ask it anyway:
Is there a Wavelab Pro licence in the Steinberg Activation Manager?
Because you do need a Wavelab Pro licence.
Not for WaveLab Go, which is included in Cubase Pro 15.
An activated WaveLab Pro license is required to use WaveLab as an ARA extension in Cubase.
[EDIT] As corrected by @Johnny_Moneto and @gamelany indeed, I found this in the documentation:
I had searched the WaveLab Elements help and found no reference to ARA, and had presumed the “Go” edition would therefore also not have that feature. Very confusing … to my mind, at least.
No, not in Wavelab go (13)
Just a sideways one - I was having an issue with SpectraLayeers ARA in a similar situation, turns out the uninstaller had left an old .vst3 and .dll in the Common Files/VST3/Steinberg/SpectraLayers folder, perhaps something similar has happened and you have outdated files in the …/WaveLab folder? If you are on Mac, I suppose the equivalent folder.
I’m on Windows.
If you go to the folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Steinberg\WaveLab.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win
you should see the WaveLab.vst3 file. Is that the case on your system?
This is where I got that info:
Note
To use the WaveLab ARA Pro extension, which offers many additional features and options in your DAW, you need to hold an active WaveLab Pro license. You can purchase the license from Steinberg on steinberg.net. WaveLab Pro must be installed on your computer.
Although I have Cubase 15, I haven’t redeemed the download code - yet.
One item is called WaveLab Pro (ARA), the other one WaveLab Go (ARA). The latter is included in Cubase Pro 15.
The “Note” section is just marketing: There is a bigger and better version available… for a fee.
See how easily confused I get!
This is on my system:
C:\Program Files\Steinberg\WaveLab 13\System\Plugins\Wavelab Plug-in Set.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win: Wavelab Plug-in Set.vst3
Cool, but please have a look at the folder that I mentioned.
I did of course - but nothing of Wavelab in it…

That is very strange indeed. However, it makes sense that WaveLab Go doesn’t appear as an ARA extension if the file is not present in the proper place.
Can you uninstall Steinberg WaveLab 13 through the Windows uninstaller and then reinstall it afterwards?
YES
It works!
Thank you, Johnny!
