Are you guys are forced to run 32bit Cubase for video?

[mod edit- Indeed, please do not hijack threads, starting your own is fine.]
Sorry I don’t mean to hijack the thread, but I’m very curious if you guys are forced to run 32bit Cubase for video?
I’m using Windows, and there seems no 64bit native QuickTime.
When I talked with a Cubase support guy, he concurred Cubase x64 can not import video files for that. It has to be 32bit Cubase.
(and I’ve already uninstalled almost all my 32bit plugs!)

I have only Cubase Pro 8 x64 installed, with QuickTime 7 (free version), and it plays video fine. The 64-bit Cubase appears to spawn a number of 32-bit processes to run the 32-bit QuickTime components. Your “guy” is wrong.

Thanks! That’s encouraging. I’ll try to set up the video environment again.

Also running video under Cubase x64 on W7 x64.
