Arpache SX won’t record arpeggiated Chord Track output

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to record the arpeggiated MIDI output from Arpache SX into a Solo Violin track, but something in my setup must be wrong.

Here’s what I’m doing:

  • I have a Chord Track with 8 bars (one chord per bar)
  • I put Arpache SX on the MIDI track
  • I enabled Record Output to Track
  • But instead of arpeggiated notes, Cubase only plays/records the stacked chord notes generated by the Chord Track

What’s interesting is this: If I move the divider above Arpache SX in the MIDI Inserts section, the arpeggio does play correctly — but it still won’t record the arpeggiated notes.

It feels like Arpache SX isn’t actually receiving the chord notes from the Chord Track, even though playback behaves differently depending on the insert order.

Q1) What’s the correct routing or workflow for this?
Q2) Also, is it possible to select a MIDI part in VSTi and have it rendered into MIDI ( not audio) with all MIDI inserts, sends and effects?

If you drag the chords down onto the MIDI track, I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to get it working. I’m not sure if there’s a way to get it working with the way you have it set up.

This only puts the chord notes with whole note duration in every bar!

This use to work but hasn’t for me for some time. - I’ve reverted to using the Midi, Merge Midi in Loop with the track solo’d.
