Arpeggio sign with notes shared between voices

If all the notes of a chord that includes multiple “voices” (up and down stems) is selected

and an arpeggio sign applied, this occurs, as expected:

But if a note is shared between the two “voices”:

this occurs, which was to me unexpected:

I don’t know why that happens, but if you select only the notes in the lower voice and then apply the arpeggio, it looks correct.

Thanks @asherber That is what I have been doing, but as you said, it is not clear why this is happening, it appears unintended to me and, as usual, I report such things.
