Hello Team! I’m planning to use Cubase for a live performance with my church band, and I need some help setting up an arranger track chain. I want to be able to jump to different sections of a song while allowing the current section to finish playing. Right now, when I click on another section while the arranger mode is active, it just jumps to that section right away instead of waiting for the current one to finish. I know I can do this by turning off the arranger mode, but the clip stops when it reaches the end, unless I keep clicking on other sections before the current one ends. Any tips on how to set this up? I have tried VSTlive but I prefer Cubase 15 Pro which is the current DAW I am using.

Look into the JUMP-MODES in the Arranger Track Inspector:

Then use the Trigger Arranger Event Key commands:

Ty for helping me Wolfer!! I tried this but the problem is that if I don’t choose the next scene it just stops and I want it to keep playing. I mentioned this in my post but I haven’t had any luck. It seems you either set up a fixed order of the song with an arranger track chain or you disable the arranger track chain and choose the sections but it will stop playing after the end and not go to the next section unless you keep choosing the next section which defeats the purpose of playing with the band and having to choose each section all the time.

Over here when I trigger an Arranger Event (via key command or mouse-click) in the Inspector in the Arranger Events section it will play forever till a next Event is triggered:

 ![Bildschirmfoto 2026-10-25 um 12.06.27](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/steinberg/original/4X/c/d/4/cd403d8af9e071e63465d2e2ee9905407c15e3d1.png)

When I play them via the active Arranger Chain you can set each Arranger event to repeat forever and then jump around the steps via next/previous chain steps commands:

 ![Bildschirmfoto 2026-10-25 um 12.10.18](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/steinberg/original/4X/3/6/e/36ec984d67ae79cf7ba36ba3247b001c8a34ffda.png)

 ![Bildschirmfoto 2026-10-25 um 12.12.41](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/steinberg/original/4X/9/6/a/96a491a096a4988eadcac5e1f7057277710af7d4.png)

So there are two “modes”:
1)Active Arranger Mode

 ![Bildschirmfoto 2026-10-25 um 12.20.08](https://europe1.discourse-cdn.com/steinberg/original/4X/c/e/0/ce0d25c2807222ece23ffac33990d5b8500877fc.png)

Pressing play plays the Arranger Chain, do as I described and select repeat forever.

1. Arranger Mode not active:
Play the Arranger Events via key commands and set the trigger behaviour in the jump mode

Wolfer Ty for helping me this once again! You are right that if you choose an arranger event it just repeats but what i want to do is this…. say I have an arranger chain and on the fly I want to jump or repeat a certain section of the song….can I do this in Cubase without having to constantly choose the next section and run into the risk of repeating the section. I don’t know if I am being clear with my intention. Ty for helping Wolfer!

Ok, I get it now!
Sorry, I have no solution for the jump problem when playing an arranger chain, without the events being in repeat mode.

the repeat problem maybe could be solved:
Make sure the arranger track is the active track and under edit-menu you have “auto select events under cursor” active.

Then you could assign key commands to:
1 Locators to selection
2 Activate cycle

this way, when a new section is played, the according arranger-event will be selected
with the first key command the locators would be set to this arranger event and cycle could be activated with the second.
You could also combine those two into a macro.

All in all maybe other apps would be better suited for that kind of workflow

I hear you Wolfger…Ty for trying to solve my issue. It seems a fairly easy fix just to have Cubase not repeat each section when the arranger is not on and hopefully they would add this feature to Cubase 16. I tried VSTlive that can easily do this but there are too many bugs and issues that need to be ironed out first.
