Articulations as separate instruments

When each articulation is its own instrument, how do you handle it?

Thanks.

Hi @matt.whitby, you can load each of that patches in the same multi of kontakt (dragging them to the right panel): every one will be assigned to a different MIDI channel. Then you need to create an Expression Map and each switch will be a change of the absolute MIDI channel (not sure what Playback Techniques Brushed and Sus may be…, but you can create them and then use them in the Playing Technique dialogue).

Ah, yes - I think I see - thanks.

Sus = Sustained
Brushed = Brushed Spiccato (slower attack than normal spiccato)

@matt.whitby don’t expect immediate perfection. You will likely need to play around with volume balance between the articulations and there may be delays transitioning from one to another. (Good luck)

Yes, thank you. But I meant what the correspondent Playback techniques would be in Dorico, since both are not among the factories ones. But as I wrote, easy enough to create them.

Sus is usually Natural.
Yes, Brushed would need to be created.

Thanks.

I was looking at the new Max Richter strings, but it seems like it’ll be quite a faff to get it to work.
