Articulations defined in expression maps but won't work

Hi,

It’s me again…

I have trouble making articulations work. I think I did as requested (although probably not then…) :

  1. by creating a dedicated expression map for violins,
  2. by defining five articulations s shown in the image below,
  3. by assigning each one an output mapping with the same CC canal as the one defined in BBC SO,
  4. assigning an articulation for the notes,
  5. and though nothing changes and every note is played as legato, as selected by default in my BBCSO interface.

Any advice or help would be more than welcome…

Thx in advance,

Pascal

PS : I think I noted somewhere that having different status in the output mapping and remote label was not important… is that correct ?

What are the key switches that need to be sent to the library to trigger the articulations?

Legato : C-1

Long : D-1

Spiccato : E-1

Staccato : F-1

Pizzicato : G-1

No actually BBCSO is just stupid and uses the american naming system for the keyswitches, assuming C4 is middle C. Put all your keyswitches an octave lower.

Also sometimes BBCSO just start bugging around and randomly select keyswitches for no reason. If this happens, open the spitfire launcher and repair the installation.

Joshua, thank you for your answer.

If I get it right, I should lower my keyswiteches down one octave compared to what is programmed now ? That is if C-1 triggers Legato, I should specify C-0 in the output mappings for that specific articulation ?

No specify C-2 in cubase for the C-1 keyswitch. It’s actually a negative symbol so the octaves are: C-2, C-1, CO, C1, C2, etc.
