Here are two notations of the same artificial harmonic:
The first is the standard Dorico method using the lower panel to turn a note into an artificial harmonic.
My problem is that the stem connecting both the bottom note and the ‘touch’ note above makes it easily misread it as a double stop of two normals notes.
The second notation is possible with MANY steps - entering the notes in different voices, hiding rests, removing the stem on the top note - possible but way too cumbersome. (This is how I did harmonics in Finale for a few decades.)
Is it possible to NOT have the stem connect the two noteheads? I’m guessing this is not standard notation but it always seemed clearer to me.
