Arturia Keylab Essential connects but MIDI notes are not input

In setup Cubasis 3 sees and appears to connect to my Arturia KLE 61 MK3 keyboard, but none of the keystrokes are being received by Cubasis. I have verified that MIDI notes are being received by the iPad (using MIDI Wrench and Protokol). I’m not looking for any CC functionality, just want the notes to input MIDI note values. I’ve tried all four visible instances of this keyboard, and have tried both Mackie and HUI protocols. I get the same results with any combination. See the screen shot.

Thanks for your message.

Normally, no additional steps are (except for properly connecting the external device to the iPad) required to use an external keyboard with Cubasis for iOS/iPadOS - see the short example clip below.

Here are a few things to check:

  • Make sure a MIDI track assigned to a Cubasis instrument is selected.
  • Go to “Setup/MIDI” and make sure “MIDI Input Only for Armed Track” is selected.
