Asio 4all

Hi! Anyone have success using Asio 4all. I want to use my Tascam dm 4800 and Roland Td 316 (drums) to record at the same time. Apparently the asio 4all will allow you to use two intefaces at the same time…so my Dm4800 firewire card for guitar, bass etc and the roland drumset connected by usb to record audio track drums. I use Nuendo 14. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

No idea if ASIO4ALL is a genuine multi-client driver. But even if it is, you need to make sure that all devices are synchronised to the same word clock, otherwise they’ll drift out of sync over time.

You could also try VB Audio Matrix:

ASIO4ALL will allow you to aggregate multiple device inputs. Unless your devices have clock sharing abilities they won’t be perfectly in sync. For inputs it should be OK as you can probably correct any noticeable drift in your DAW.

You can also aggregate outputs with ASIO4ALL, but again keep in mind that if you can’t force the devices to lock onto a common clock, they will drift out of sync. The longer the take, the more out of sync they will become over time.

If your devices can share the same audio clock somehow (SPDIF, Wordclock, etc), then you should be fine.

Thanks ill try this! Didn’t know about it
