Asio auto install and libraries missing

Hello,

when I launch steinberg download, it installs automatically “Steinberg Asio driver 64 bit” which is related to Dorico. I don’t need it and sometimes it prevents Dorico to launch, getting stuck with engine initialisation. When I uninstall that driver, I have no problem to lauch.

Also when I start Dorico I have an alert of libraries missing (despite I’ve installed everything) :
Halion Sonic SE 3 - content (why this version?)
Indian Drum Basics
Groove Agent SE 5 - content
Olympus choir micro
Iconica sketch
Halion Symphonic Orchestra

Just for information, I have tested Dorico before I’ve bought it. On my activation account I still have both version, the complete and the trial.

Good day

Hi @leopar ,

that is the first time I hear that the Steinberg ASIO driver is preventing Dorico (or other Steinberg software) from launching.
But that driver is not strictly necessary for running Dorico, as long as you have some other driver.
Regarding the contents: Is it really complaining about HALion Sonic SE 3 contents? It should ask for HALion Sonic Selektion since Dorico 5. And with all that other libraries also missing, do you actually get some kind of sound out at all?
And could you please do Help > Create Diagnostic Report and post the corresponding zip file here? Thanks

Hi,

Thank you and sorry I’ve been stupid again. I forgot to remount a disk, that’s why it didn’t find the libraries.
About the asio driver from dorico, I’ve just noticed that when I uninstalled it, I didn’t have the engine start error. I though it might be a conflict with the asio driver from Cubase and from my soundcard (RME).
About Halion Sonic SE 3 contents, I wasn’t complaining. I just find it odd that it asked for this version of library instead of the 7th provided with Dorico.
Sorry for the delay in replying.
Have a nice day.
