I don’t know your specs, but the issue originally described in this thread most likely has to do with what is discussed in this recent topic, which is now conveniently disappearing in the general barrage in this forum:

The problem with ASIO Guard’s performance utilization has really bothered me for a long time(Now ,to cubase 15).
