I am using ASIO Generic Low Latency Asio Driver Version 1.0.30.15 x 64.
I tried to install OBS software and it has caused the ASIO driver to switch the main outputs of my soundcard (ROLAND OCTAPTURE) for inputs. I have now uninstalled OBS, but can’t get the main outputs working on my soundcard due to the asio. Using a Dell Laptop Inspiron and cubase 12. I usually use the octaptures driver in cubase, but the asio has messed this up…any ideas on how to get this working gratefully recieved. Thanks. Sam
What do you mean by it switched your main outputs for inputs?? How do you know that?
Select the Octacapture ASIO driver and show us what options you have for connections of the main out.
Is there a reason you use the generic driver rather than Roland’s dedicated ASIO driver?
Hi Grim and Johnny, here are the IO’s for octapture driver. The MAIN L/R should be OUTPUTS not INPUTS. Since installing OBS studio, they have swichted…I have tried to RESET, but no joy…any ideas on what I should do gratefully recieved, thanks, Sam
Click on audio system in the menu in your screenshot. There you can select which driver should be used.
I would try to completely uninstall and reinstall the Roland driver.
This screenshot is taken from a manual for the Octa Capture.
It surely looks like the Main and Main (R) are inputs by design.
It does look that way…though what these actually are is something of a mystery as the 8 analogue ins and the 2 digital are already covered.
Anyhow for the OP, I think you should simply be selecting 1/2 as your outputs which aligns with the “main out” jacks.
Hi, thank you both so much for taking the time to reply.
I am getting a signal through MAIN L/R on the soundcard digital display.
Going to check if I can hear through headphones, it may be leads or speakers that are not working at a guess or the output is broken? I am confused by the MAIN L/R being inputs in the octacapture manual…is this for when you connect 2 octacaptures together? Best, Sam
Hi, Thanks for replying. I used INTIALISE settings on the patch bay of octacapture, which has got everything working again. I can now use cubase again. Only taken me 4 days! Best, Sam
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I think I’ve sorted it now.
I don’t think old soundcards work well with streaming software, there is no loopback function…may get a steinberg soundcard, the UR44C…
All the best, Sam
Thanks for replying Joshua. I think I’ve fixed it now by using INIITIALISE button on the soundcard…All the best, Sam
