got M1 Max 32Gb Macbook, working on a pretty big project, ASIO meter shows around 20%, CPU load around 7% and I get drop puts
Without knowing what version you’re using, it’s impossible to say because the performance meter is different in different versions. In C13 though, the asio meter shows the average load, not the peak. There is an overload indicator however that will illuminate when you get a drop out.

Yes the red overload dot lights up when drop out occurs.
But why when CPU and ASIO load is so low, and buffer is set to 2048 ??
Because peak values can be sporadic. That”s why there are separate average and peak meters.
What can cause those sporadic peak values at just 20% load ?
In Cubase 14 you can see, which plugin is causing the drop-out. Maybe this gives a hint of what is going wrong there.
Just open the lower section of the ASIO Meter thingie (available with F12 key).
