Assign midi to rotary

I use a key step 37 and it has a couple rotary encoders that I don’t use at all…velocity/strum.
Can I turn these knobs into a controller to adjust the automation level when I use automation…instead of just putting dots on the line and adjusting them etc?

If they send a MIDI Message, you can use for example Quick Controls in Cubase.
