Assigning a Text Frame to Multiple pages

I’m a new user learning to work with text frames in Dorico’s Engrave mode. I have two (probably related) questions. I would like to add a running footer (an edition number + page number). I figured out how to add the information and page number with tokens. How do I have this show on multiple pages, AND can I get it to alternate sides? (Right side for odd numbered pages and left side for even numbers.)

In a related question, using one of Dorico’s templates, pages 2+ all automatically include the title of the piece at the top. I don’t need this running header. I deleted the one that appears on page 2, but all the others remain the same. How do I globally delete this header?

Welcome. Don’t edit the score itself; this creates a page override (Engrave mode, pages panel, top right, look for the red triangle).

Instead, edit the Default Page Template (Engrave mode, right side, halfway down). Double-click on it to open it and edit.

I’d recommend watching a few YouTube videos on this. Here’s one (old, but mostly still accurate): Introduction to Pages and Master Pages | Page Layout in Dorico (youtube.com)

Ah, this makes sense. I added text frames in the score. For a running header like this, it sounds like I should delete those and reenter them in the Page Templates section. If I understand correctly, I should only add a text frame in the score for a single item, like a footnote. I’ll check out the video. Thank you!
