I figured out whats causing it. Its the Smart Delay Sync Toggle multiscrip thats loaded at the top. If you unload this, all is correct.
I will report this. In the mean time, to unload this, go to “Preset-Factory- INIT Multiscript” To load again and use, go to "Preset-User-Smart-Delay Sync to load "and select the number of instruments that are loaded (standard is 13). Seems like in some instances, some midi data is getting crossed in this.
Ryan,
Thanks! Both for the PDF with the techniques and for finding the cause of my playback issues.
I wasn’t able to get all the way through your suggestion. In Kontakt after unloading the multiscript as you suggested the “Preset-User” is greyed out and my Smart Delay Sync item in the Kontakt rack view looks like it loaded the old version again. Regardless, unloading it from earlier fixed the issues I had and maintained the Smart Delay at the same time.
Going to be starting a new big band project soon, so will be happy to have the playback working normally.
Thanks again,
Dave
I can’t get Atomic Big Band to work AT ALL with Dorico. I go ahead and choose Atomic Big Band as the playback template, but as soon as I activate the project, I get the rainbow wheel forever. It just freezes up. Both the VST engine and Dorico itself freeze up in the Activity Monitor.
I can’t even save a file when the playback template is loaded. Dorico freezes up. When I click the little “e” to try and set up the KONTAKT player, nothing happens.
I have no idea why this is happening. Can someone help? Thanks!
PS - I’m using a MacBook Pro with 32 GB of RAM.
Sorry to hear you’re having issues, Michael.
If you haven’t already, try following the instructions in this video:
There are certain steps you need to take, including setting up the Kontakt player outside of Dorico.
For what it’s worth, I’ve been able to get ABBH to work well with Dorico now and I’ve been pretty happy with it.
