It would be great to have a flow option that indicated it was attaca or segue as one, with customisable text on a per-flow basis, that also overrides the playback gap between flows.
Would be great for Theatre and Opera but also for Classical works where some movements might be attaca (e.g. Beethoven’s 5th Mvmt 3-4 is but 1 and 2 are independent).
From a text point of view it would be like system-attached text that is right-aligned to the barline of the final bar in the flow below the bottom stave in that layout. Can provide pictures of scores and parts from theatre and/or classical if that helps.
I know there are workarounds available but this seems like a good native feature to have which is particularly useful. Especially as lots of theatre people migrate from Finale to Dorico.
I would think that Finale folks would be comfortable with work-arounds. One of the advantages of Finale’s extensive feature set was the ability to use work-arounds when a specific feature did not exist.
Oh definitely, and I’m totally onboard with finding workarounds. But since the user base who might needs such a feature is likely to grow significantly, and the developers for this software are truly amazing, I think it’s the kind of thing that they’d like on their radar as a hopefully-not-too-difficult, but high-yield added feature.
You can use a Fine marking on the final barline, and change its text in the properties panel. It will have the right alignment and formatting. Of course, it won’t play back as such.
