Attacca (segue)

I found the what I needed by searching this forum, but since the question was asked differently, I wanted to share the information.

I use attacca at the end of a flow or movement to indicate that the next section should start immediately without a pause. Although you can enter this as text, Dorico does not recognize it as a command. (Should it in a future release?)

There are no matches in the manual for attacca or segue, but thanks to another user, I discovered that you can remove the pause between flows in Playback Options (Ctrl+Shift+p). Thanks @MichaelGrigorowitsch.

I hope this helps someone.

PS Corrected “attacca” spelling.

One can remove the pause between flows globally and then insert (non-printing) silent flows to use if exporting an audio file. That allows one to specify how long a pause to give in each case.

Forgive me Konrad, it was an irrepressible impulse of an absent-minded Italian…
