I updated my cubase to the latest patch when it was released and then shortly after I have had to restructure my studio, move cables routing etc. As a result ive had to remap my ins and outs via the Audio Connections menu. Ive noticed that when I save my new configuration, if i load up an old project that was done before the reacbling, its loading up the old configuration and not showing me the new configuration to select from.
Ive noticed something weird going on with this for a couple weeks and been on and off about posting it until I am 100% certain this is an issue in Cubase and ive come to the conclusion that it is. No matter what I do, i can set up the new config, delete the old config, but when i end up rebooting or loading up an older project the new config has gone.
Has this been picked up elsewhere? Is it a known bug?
Driving me insane needing to keep remapping my connections whereas this has never been a problem historically.
It’s not a bug and has been this way as long as I can remember. If I’ve changed my audio connections and saved the changes to new presets, when I open an old project, the first thing I do is load the new I/O presets and then save the project. From now on, it will open with the new I/O format.
The problem is, the new settings ive saved though isnt showing. So having to redo the whole mapping again. Its always been that it saved as a preset on the drop down but it only shows the old connection name and not the new one, so whilst i get it that the project will open up the old settings as it was, it should still show the new setting that i can select which has always been the case, but since the update its not.
OK, now I understand. Are you on Mac or PC?
This is working normally for me on Cubase 14 Pro and Windows 11 (all latest version).
When you save I/O presets, can you ever see the ones you’ve newly saved, or do the new presets only disappear when you’re trying to open them from an old project?
Im on 14 pro with the latest Windows 11.
When opening the new project it shows the newly saved preset, but when opening an existing project with the old configuration, it only shows the original preset that was there and not the new on.
The only thing I can suggest is to start Cubase with preferences disabled, then try recreating the I/O mapping, save it as a preset and then open an older project.
If this works, then you likely need to rebuild your preferences from scratch.
