Hi! What is the “Cancel” button supposed to do?

Doesn’t it mean quit this dialog without changing anything? That’s a fairly normal UI convention. No?

Cancel is actually pointless, because the popup only appears if no driver has ever been selected, otherwise not. So nothing can be “retained”. In addition, despite pressing Cancel a driver is set (in my case the Steinberg built-in ASIO Driver)…
