I updated to Dorico 6.1 recently and I ran into the problem that Dorico won’t start because it can’t initialize the Audio Engine. I had that problem with previous versions as well but this time no matter what I do it won’t work. Dorico 5 still works fine.
It falls over while scanning plug-ins, therefore please go to C:\Program Files\Common Files and there rename the folders VST, VST2, and VST3 to something completely different.
If you then start up Dorico, does it still hang? (it’s best if you reboot your machine before using testing anew.
