Audio Engine doesn't initiate

Hello Dorico Team,

I updated to Dorico 6.1 recently and I ran into the problem that Dorico won’t start because it can’t initialize the Audio Engine. I had that problem with previous versions as well but this time no matter what I do it won’t work. Dorico 5 still works fine.

Help would be much appreciated

Thanks

I’m running Windows 11, Intel i9 10920X

Help is coming… very soon…

It appears that you have a lot of VST2 plug-ins.

It falls over while scanning plug-ins, therefore please go to C:\Program Files\Common Files and there rename the folders VST, VST2, and VST3 to something completely different.

If you then start up Dorico, does it still hang? (it’s best if you reboot your machine before using testing anew.

Hey Ulf,

thanks for the quick help. I removed all my VST2 completely and now Dorico 6 works fine.

thank you again
