audio engine process died on startup

I’m attempting to use the Dorico 2.2.10 trial but I’m having an issue.

When I try to open Dorico 2 I get the ‘audio engine process died’ message and then the program hangs. I’ve tried numerous times and have of course restarted several times as well.

I’m on OS X 10.12.5 and use Cubase 9.5 with no problems. I see that others users have this is but the solutions aren’t given in the threads…

I’m happy to send more information but I’m not sure what is relevant.

Can you please go to /Users/your-username/Library/Application Support/Steinberg and zip up the “Dorico 2” folder, and also go to /Users/your-username/Library/Preferences and zip up the “VSTAudioEngine2” folder, and email them to me at d dot spreadbury at steinberg dot de, and we should be able to figure it out!
