Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks
I am in Mac11.5 and Dorico Pro4.
I’ve reinstalled the sound again, and same error.
Or Where should I check if I’ve missed something
Do you have the new HALion Sonic 7 installed?
Does Dorico start after a reboot of the system?
yes sure, I just installed it yesterday.
Yeah, I’ve reboot the system also restart mac.
So you can’t get Dorico going at all, right?
If you can’t launch Dorico at all, please check the folder /Library/Application Support /Steinberg/Components and see if you can find some Groove Agent bundle in there. If so, move it temporarily to e.g. the desktop and try to launch Dorico again.
If that does not solve your issue, please execute the attached shell script
CreateDoricoDiagnosticsReport.zip (509 Bytes), which will create a zip file on your desktop. Please post that here. Thanks
Yes, I can find the bundle called Groove Agent SE.vst3. I’ve tried it and still can’t work. Here is the zip file, thanks!!
DoricoDiagnosticsReport.zip (398.5 KB)
Thanks for the data. According to what I see indeed it is GrooveAgent that is responsible for your trouble. Are you sure that you moved out the bundle from the mentioned location and not just ocpied it? Also, did you look at the correct place? The path I gave is from the root of your harddrive.
Additionally, after moving out GrooveAgent, you could try rebooting and then starting Dorico. Does that get any better? If not please provide another diagnostics report.
Yes, i moved out the Groove agent to my desktop and it will automatically add a new one to the folder, right? The path: /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Components/Groove Agent SE.vst3.
Is it right? if it’s right then the error shows the same too. The image looks this.
BTW, the CreateDoricoDiagnosticsReport.zip can download it in anywhere, right? Or do i need to put it in the specific place?
Also, this is the zip I generate it again.
DoricoDiagnosticsReport.zip (429.2 KB)
Thanks for helping me.
Thanks for the data again, but the new crash file shows the same error again.
The path is correct but the Groove Agent SE.vst3 shall not get recreated, and I don’t know what is causing it that it gets recreated with you.
Can you please open a Finder window, then choose from the menu Go > Go to Folder and in the box that pops up you paste the string
/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Components
and press the enter key, then a new Finder window at exactly that location shall come up. Then drag and drop the Groove Agent SE.vst3 to the Desktop or Bin and make really sure that it is gone from that location. The OS should even prompt you for your password in order to authorize the move.
Does it still get recreated when you start Dorico?
Okay, I just delete it LOL and it won’t recreate it. However, it just lag in here and not work. Do I need to install other stuff?
BTW, I found that I didn’t license in the soft-elicense(?) I’ve tried to activate the activation code, but it shows that “Currently, there is no license available which can be upgraded by your upgrade license. Please connect an USB-eLicenser, which holds an appropriate upgradable license, to your computer.” This is my second computer that I want to install Dorico. I don’t know if it’s matter.
And what if you now reboot again and start Dorico?
Same result! It still in “Wait for audio engine intialization.” hmm, or i need to reinstall Groove agent?
BTW, is it necessary to use the license?
Same error now?

Thanks a lot for helping me!! I highly appreciate it.
I will share my problem to anyone here. so simply, just delete “Groove agent” in /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Components, also delete the Melodyne.vst3 in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3. And it will work now!
