I’m facing a strange and inconsistent behavior in Nuendo 15.0.30 when moving audio events between tracks in Range Mode. I’ve attached a short video to demonstrate what’s happening.
Chapter 1 (Bad behavior): When I click and drag an audio event to a track below, Nuendo automatically duplicates it, leaving the original event on the initial track. It acts as if I am holding down the Alt / Option key, but I am not.
Chapter 2 (Good behavior): This is the standard behavior I want to get every time. The event is simply moved to the other track without being duplicated.
Sometimes it works fine, and sometimes it gets stuck in this “auto-duplicate” behavior.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be a stuck modifier key preference, a specific tool setting, or a known bug?
I think in your “bad behaviour” example you are dealing with overlapping events (they are diagonally hatched), so dragging the top event reveals the underlying event.
This is not the case in your “good behaviour” example.
@Sfa Indeed, sometimes I’ve got the error, sometimes not.
@klfnk2020 I use a classic keyboard without any maestro shortcuts.
@wolfger You’re completely right about the overlapping events.
However, my issue is that in previous versions (Nuendo 14), even when dealing with overlapping audio events, dragging the top event (with the range tool) would move the entire stacked block (including the overlapping) rather than just revealing what was underneath.
Is there a specific preference or setting in Nuendo 14 that changes how overlapping events behave when dragged, so that they move together as a single block like they used to?
